Martinkovic Milford Architects was asked to both modernize and maximize the square footage of this dated, two story wood frame office and retail building. In response, Martinkovic Milford Architects doubled the structure’s size by adding a new third story, rear extension, façade and interiors, completely transforming the building. The renovation honors the scale of its surroundings while adding a strong contemporary presence to the block. The striking angled windows bays capture unique Market Street views and bring ample light to the interior. A tower-like element balances the windows, and is faced with an attractive array of composite panels.
